all about the studio
The Building
Originally built in 1908 as a single-story auto service garage known as the Ball Brothers Dealership, the building has a long and layered history. In 1920, during the Prohibition era, a second floor was added and used as a dance hall — the very space where the studio is located today. The original wood floors, now more than 100 years old, remain intact and are original to the building.

In 1941, the building transitioned once again when grain elevators were installed to move feed from the first floor to the second. The area that now houses Lucky Blue Studio once contained wooden stalls used for grinding and mixing feed, with grain and feed sold out of the building from 1941 to 1969. Many of these historic elements still influence the character and charm of the space today.

Hi, I’m Lizzie — owner and founder of Lucky Blue Studio. I’ve always been drawn to spaces with character, history, and good bones — places that feel original and a little unexpected. My love for western and vintage style naturally shaped the vision for the studio, creating a space that feels timeless, warm, and full of story. I’ve been a photographer since 2020, with a heart for capturing playful love and authentic smiles. When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll find me spending time with my high school sweetheart-turned-husband and our one very loved furry pup.
